One Room Challenge, Week 2: Progress in the Laundry Room

Welcome back to Week 2 of the One Room Challenge!

One Room Challenge at www.joyinourhome.com Join me for a 6 week Laundry Room Makeover

And a very Happy Thanksgiving to all my sweet Canadian readers and fellow bloggers!

Did you get a chance to check out some of the participants of the challenge? There are some great looking room makeovers on the go…. you can check them out on Linda’s site here. I always enjoy checking out and following along with as many as I can! In case you missed my post last week, here is Week 1 in the ORC.

This will likely be my shortest post in the challenge because of the super busy week we’ve had. In Canada, it’s Thanksgiving today and we had a bunch of my family stay with us for 4 days! We cooked turkey dinner and all the trimmings. Let’s just say between my mom and sisters, there was NO lack of food and desserts! (Some of you might have seen a little snapshot of our Thanksgiving feast on my Instagram… if you missed it, you can follow me here!) We also had our daughter’s Frozen themed birthday party so it was a busy but fabulous weekend!

My husband has started working on the lockers for the laundry room. They are the thing that I am most excited about in this makeover. They will be so, so perfect for our children to hang their backpacks, coats and hoodies.

Here’s how they’re looking so far. This will be the “base” and the lockers will sit on top of this. We haven’t decided yet, if we’ll put drawers in these spaces or just baskets for shoes.

I am loving the look of them already! Can you imagine all the shoes and boots they’ll be able to hold! This space will help so much in our quest to get more organized!

I love these lockers by Heidi at One Creative Mommy! They are totally how we want ours to look, minus the turquoise color. We’ll be painting ours white. We’re also thinking of making 3 or 4 compartments on the very top and putting some baskets in them.

I’m liking these baskets from Michaels…. I have a slight basket obsession and love shopping for them! We have baskets in our pantry, bedroom closets, storage room, kitchen, bathroom so why not add them to the laundry room? 😉

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have you been organizing any rooms in your home lately? I’d love to hear any tips or advice you have… I’ll need it in this room! Please leave me a comment below 🙂

Have a very wonderful week!
