Burlap Rose Garland

Happy December Friends!

It’s hard to believe it’s the last month of the year! Seriously, where has this year gone? This is my first Christmas season as a blogger and it’s so exciting! There is so much fabulous DIY inspiration out there and I can’t believe that I get to share my own creations as well, on my little blog!

I’d like to show you my latest creation today! Do you love burlap as much as I do? It seems like everywhere you look there’s burlap, but I’m totally not over it yet! I was challenged by one of my blogging friends to take an item I found at the 2nd hand store and create something Christmasy. A while back I found this huge piece of burlap at one of the stores I frequent so when this idea came up, my wheels started thinking what I could make with burlap!

This is what I came up with…

This is seriously so easy to make and I love how they turned out! I think they’re so darn cute!!

First, I cut strips of burlap 2 inches wide and I just experimented with different lengths. The longer your strip, the bigger your rose will be. Fold the beginning of your piece of burlap in half like the picture above shows and use your glue gun to glue it together. I then began twisting and turning and every few turns I would use glue to hold it together. You really don’t need to glue at every turn or twist! A little goes a long way. When I was happy how the rose looked, I trimmed any pieces of burlap so the roses were “tidy” looking!

They look so pretty on our mantle with the greenery…

And they look so pretty strung on this old window pane that’s on our fireplace mantle as well…

There’s a couple other bloggers who are sharing what they found at the second hand store and made used it to make some Christmas décor! Their links are at the bottom so hope you hop over and check out what they created!

Have a wonderful day… wherever this finds you! Thank you so, so much for coming by! It makes my day to see your comments and have you stop by!

I wish I could find some burlap like this. Your garland turned out to be very pretty. I love the idea of using something rough like burlap to make something like a rose.

Beautiful! I could think of lots of cute places to use those burlap roses. Happy first Christmas blogging. This is also my first although I bought my domain in December.

I LOVE these Kendra! I really love how burlap can make girly things, like roses, more neutral. Living with all boys limits me on some decorating things!

I just did a project involving rosettes last week and I think I made 36 total… I used fabric, have never made one out of burlap. So pretty!
