One Room Challenge {Week 6}: A Farmhouse Office Reveal

Friends, it’s One Room Challenge reveal day!!! It’s hard to believe it was just 6 short weeks ago we shared our Farmhouse Office Inspiration board and after many late nights and lots of sweat and hard work, it’s time to show you our room!

These ORC’s are nothing new to us! This is our 6th one and there are times I’ll never do another one because of the stress and deadlines but there is something so darn rewarding and encouraging to work alongside so many of my sweet blogging friends that each spring and fall, we jump on board and tackle a room. And this time around, I am SO glad we did. Cause I love the outcome of this one!!!

This is my very favorite ORC yet! I had a vision for this room and I feel it turned out better than I even imagined. I won’t share any tutorials or how-to’s in this post but will share those later on in separate posts. For now, grab your favorite frap or a cup of coffee and come take a tour of our newly renovated farmhouse-style office!

The door to this room is to the right of our piano. We contemplated whether or not to put our piano in here but I’m so glad we did. Our children both take piano lessons and it used to be in our basement and we find now that we moved it upstairs, they both play it all the time. My husband plays as well and it’s absolutely music to my ears!

This room is such a collection of DIY projects and I think that’s what makes me so proud of it. It’s amazing how painting some old pieces and a few do-it-yourself projects can make any room look amazing… and save you a ton of money. I found this old window frame at a garage sale and made the little blue garland.

Can we just talk about these shelves for a minute? Another project my sweetie made for me! There is nothing that man wouldn’t make for me, no matter how crazy my ideas get!? When I first showed him he wasn’t so sure about them.  I know they have a bit of an industrial feel to them but we can just call it farmhouse industrial, shall we? 😉

I shared this farmhouse style desk I found at the thrift store a few weeks ago and it’s the perfect size for this space. Our office isn’t very big so we had to choose our pieces carefully and this desk is perfect! I’m so happy to have my own space to write these blog posts! That chalkboard was made by my husband and will be perfect to use as a monthly calendar!

Any office must have a little reading nook and I think this spot is what I’m most excited about… for now! I’m ready to just sit in this compfy chair all weekend long. With a good book, of course!

This picture might not seem like anything special but these are two pieces that I will always treasure. A couple months ago my precious Grandma passed away and I received the foot stool you see in the picture. I remember my Grandma sitting in her favorite rocker countless times with her feet on that stool. What makes it a hundred times more special is the writing I found on the bottom of it. My grandma’s handwriting. And she must’ve gotten this on her 13th birthday. I’ve seen this stool millions of times but never realized it must’ve been a gift to my dear Granny. I did recover it with this gorgeous blue fabric from Tonic Living and I know my grandma would love it!

The egg basket also holds many memories of my childhood growing up on a farm. We used these baskets to gather potatoes every fall and I think it’s perfect to hold some of my favorite magazines and books.

I love cuddling up with a blanket whenever I read so this basket with a couple of blankets in it was a must!

This is my view as I sit on my chair. My husband made the sign that hangs above our piano… I love this line that comes from the hymn “Come Thou Fount” and thought it would be perfect for above the piano. Our piano needed some serious TLC and was a very worn looking brown before. I still can’t believe I was brave enough to paint it but it was worth it! I love how it brightens up this room so much!!!

Thank YOU, my faithful readers and friends for following along on this fun journey! I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again! Your support makes this little blog of mine worth it!!

And a very big thank you to my amazing sponsors for this One Room Challenge! I couldn’t have done it without you and thank you for making amazing products that are easy to recommend to my readers!

Kendra, this space is so pretty! I love the wall and all of the different layers of white. The pieces that your sweetie made for you are really cool and that foot stool…just thinking about it makes me weepy. I’m so proud of you for finishing despite everything that has been going on behind the scenes. It’s beautiful. Hugs, CoCo

What a beautiful space! I love that you have the foot stool from your grandma and the basket from the farm. Wonderful memories! And a special shout-out to those husbands. I know I’d never be able to create spaces without mine. Looks like your husband did a wonderful job on the shelves and sign.

Such a beautiful room, Kendra! I love the shelves, painted piano and that comfy reading chair. My favorite part is that you were able to include the footstool that belonged to your grandma though……She would be so proud of the space you created.
